Weight Watchers, Fat-Free Recipe for Home-Made French Fries
I am a life time member of 'Weight Watchers' maintenance program. Although I don't always follow it to the T, the healthier food choices have become a part of me. Eating healthier does not have to mean less taste. This is one of many favorite recipes I used when I was learning the program. I never make french fries with oil anymore and this healthier cooking method makes better french fries. Who knew a fat-free recipe could be better than the old stand by, made with oil. Enjoy, and I hope this becomes your standard recipe for fries too.
My Fat-Free, Home-Made, French Fries
Ingredients
- 4-5 Potatoes (Red or White)
- Pam Cooking Spray
- Lawry's Season Salt
- Ketchup
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Cut potatoes into long slices that are about 1/2" thick.
- Arrange the cut potatoes on baking sheet in a single layer.
- Cook for 30 minutes at 325 degrees, then increase temperature to 400 degrees and cook another 30 minutes.
- You may turn fries periodically to make sure they brown evenly (I don't turn them and they turn out great!)
- While fries are hot, salt them with regular table salt or Lawry's Season Salt.
- Optional: Some like to dip them in ketchup while others enjoy drizzling vinegar on the fries.

Glad you liked it. I just finished eating those fries and nummy. I am a life-time weight watchers gal and this is one of my favorites.
WOW this is awesome thanks soooo much
Hi youngcurves-I started making these fries when I joined weight watchers. They are so good that you can't believe they are non-fat. You can figure out great recipes that taste as good as fattening foods. I have learned many great tips on low-fat nummy foods. I guess I should hub some of them. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
the fries do stick a bit to the baking sheet. Any ideas?
Hi vrajavala-You probably didn't spray enough pam cooking spray on the pan. I am always sure to be generous when I am spraying the pan. So glad you tried them but sorry you had the sticking problem. It helps too if you use the tephlon baking/cooking sheet. You don't have to but you definitely wont get any sticking.
Fat free french fries may be the world's most perfect food.

Hi there Mrs. J.B.-I'm actually making them today for lunch for my nephew and I. YOU will love these and they are the healthiest way to cook them.
how much points is in these french fry?
tamanna-It depends on how many fries you have but I usually make the fries out of two large sized potatoes and cut them. Two potatoes (large) or 5" is 6 points. 1 large red or white potato is 3 points. Good luck, I love this program! :)
Wow! I love French Fries. I will try these today

Hi Stessily, nice to see you this weekend. I love these fries and I actually always make them this way even when I'm not doing the weight watchers plan. They are way better than ones you douse with olive oil or other oils. So many good habits I got into was because of weight watchers and trying healthier ways.
